Countdown to departure.
We're leaving Port Maitland on Sunday and will spend a couple of days in Halifax, then a couple of days in Toronto, then back to Antigua on Oct 25. We have some concerns about damage from Hurricane Omar: thankful that there were no serious injuries or fatalies reported in Antigua, but this video from Jolly Harbour gives a good idea of just how much flooding occurred. You can see the stern of Nancy Dawson momentarily at about the 1:30 mark. A bit scary to see that much water flowing by on land...Apparently there was an incredible lightning show too.
I'll post another update with photos from the goodbye parties (these transition times are generally pretty high energy, if a bit fraught) when I finish bloody packing. It's getting very chilly in Port Maitland - socks and a hot water bottle last night. Lots of frost on the old Volvo this morning.
