Followed by "Stand by Your Man" (particularly when he's on a ladder, or screwing gyproc to the kitchen ceiling).

Done. Unbelievably, done. Randy just noted that he hasn't been out to the workshop all day....

We're going to have a beer now and go for a walk. Apparently it's quite nice hearabouts.

Wondering where we've been? what we've been doing? This photo pretty much says it all.

We've been hard at work renovating the kitchen, with the lion's share of the work going to Randy. I've been wearing the same paint-splattered jeans for months(apparently, this is in style, happy serendipity). With brief breaks for family visits, friend visits, sleep and drink (and two months waiting for internet access!), we've managed, after three months, to very nearly complete the kitchen reno.

It's so fabulous, I could plotz. We are both loving it. Dishwasher. Gas stove. New floor, ceiling, walls, cupboards.

Very soon, I will post Before and After photos. Or for those of us who used to be semi-addicted to decorating shows (that was back when we had tv), the Reveal. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Oooh, and aaahh. And line up to give Randy a big pat on the back, and wish him happy 65th birthday (on the 27th, and it's Anna's champagne birthday the same day!).
